Retirement of the Class40 Amarris

Unfortunately, one team won’t get to join in the fun tonight. At around midnight UTC on Sunday night, just as she was completing her circumnavigation of the Isle of Wight, the Class40 Amarris hit a metal channel marker, suffering minor structural damage. In light of the windy conditions and heavy seas expected in the English Channel at the end of the race, skippers Achille and Gildas believe it more sensible to return to Lorient to make a comprehensive analysis of the situation and commence repairs. It is with great regret that the crew is forced to retire from this CIC Normandy Channel Race.
