Retirement of the Class40 Café Joyeux

At 07:30 this morning, the Class40 Café Joyeux informed the Race Management of the breakage of her forestay. The mast is still standing. The crew is fine and was able to get their J1 back onboard, which had gone into the water, and was able to secure the rigging. They are forced to abandon the CIC Normandy Channel Race, and are making their way to their home port. After a very good start to the race, Nicolas d’Estais and Léo Debiesse were in 2nd place at the time of the incident.
